My Mission
Vibroacoustic Therapy has become my life’s work. It is my absolute favorite way to experience music, and the impact it has on my system, as well as recognizing it in others, motivates me to share these techniques with the world. It is not another pill to take, it is not an expensive resource or invasive procedure, it is simply enjoying music in a physical form that can positively impact both body and mind with quantifiable data. Something as simple as vibration can help calm and regulate your system, deepen connection to yourself, and the world around you. The Sonic Session mission is to shine light and improve on vibroacoustic techniques, positively impact quality of life through musical containers, while piercing through the fluff of the holistic world. If holistic practices do not have evidence based claims or draw conclusions from scientific publishings, please reconsider their intention and think critically.
My Background
I’m a certified Vibroacoustic Therapist and pioneer in the field, as well as a music producer and visual artist. I adore Electronic Dance Music (EDM) for it’s audio design, culture, and the innovative teams that deliver immersive experiences, and continue to find inspiring moments both attending and working in these worlds. (How amazing is it that Denver has become such a focal point for this scene??) This has been my main field of focus under the artist name “LowPro.” for all of my audio / visual media projects over the past decade. When I first experienced vibroacoustic technology with kinetic transducers, it gave me the depth of a soundtrack I had only felt at EDM events, where the full spectrum audio design has a low end you can physically feel pass through you. Discovering the science of vibroacoustics illustrated why I love EDM sound design so much, and encouraged me to shift my own audio design to cater to the deeper vibrational power that transducers and kinetic bass offers. Since this shift, I have enjoyed creating more textural, ambient programs for individual vibroacoustic experiences, which I have been developing since 2020. I joke that transducers have ‘ruined’ my audio experience, as I now need to have this depth to my music listening everywhere I go. I have installed transducers in my car, my gaming chair, and do custom installs for producers that learn they can better tune their sub frequencies with a vibrational low-end through their studio chairs. Check out some DIY builds on my Products Page. I sincerely believe kinetic transducers will be the replacement of subwoofers in new age sound systems, as we are starting to see in movie theatres and even some high-end car systems.
Think for Yourself and Question
I am acutely aware of the holistic ‘fluff’ that surround the terms like frequency & vibration, and the predatory corporations that utilize holistic wellness as a means of extorting resources from people that can not afford or trust components of the medical system we have today. I wish to set a better example than this world of smoke and mirrors and have taken a more aggressive stance on calling out baseless claims that do not have any evidence or research to support it. Take a look at research done on subjects you are interested in on Google Scholar for case studies and published scientific journals, and make sure that companies site their sources in this way. If you are not afraid of popping the hood on a subject than you don’t have to be afraid of companies pulling a fast one on you. Thank you
